AV Technician, Salary: $37,735 – $47,168 per year, USCA Instructional Services
Under the general supervision of the Director of Multimedia, the Audiovisual Technician provides comprehensive technical support for meeting space technologies, including classrooms, conference rooms, and other collaborative environments. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving AV problems through research and isolation, as well as providing immediate assistance for classroom technology emergencies and video teleconferencing requests. In addition to troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software issues, the technician follows all Technology Services Division processes for documentation and accountability. This position involves collaborating with system designers, programmers, and stakeholders to ensure systems meet user needs. Furthermore, the technician works closely with the engineering team on advanced troubleshooting and repairs for AV and computer technology across all campus learning spaces. Minimum requirements: Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred: Associates Degree in related field, or combination of education and 4 years' experience, Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certified. Application deadline: February 10, 2026. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Good customer service, analytical, organizational, and coordination skills to help support multiple ongoing meeting space technology projects and technical issues. Technical skills related to the administration of lecture capture, video conferencing systems and computer based video conferencing. The ability to work fluently in both Windows and Apple environments. Knowledge of the applications of current Crestron classroom audiovisual systems and a broad range of multimedia technology. Ability to quickly diagnose and or troubleshoot a technical issue related to meeting space technologies and immediately provide a fix or workaround to ensure no downtime. Strong troubleshooting skills and AV installation background.
