Your Role:

The Life Science (LS) Norwood Facility is a pivotal site within Discovery Solutions, providing essential solvents and solutions for chemistry and DNA reagents. Our products are crucial for advancing analytical chemistry testing, developing new scientific compounds, and supplying lifesaving therapies.

As a member of the site leadership team, the Maintenance & Engineering Manager will oversee day-to-day maintenance, engineering, and EHS program implementation, reporting directly to the Site Director. This role is crucial for managing maintenance and engineering functions at Norwood, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of capital projects with a focus on mechanical integrity and process safety. The ideal candidate will possess experience in maintenance planning and reliability within a chemical manufacturing environment and will provide primary technical support for facilities maintenance, process engineering, utilities, and calibration of non-laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and resource Process Hazard Analyses.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the Maintenance and Engineering department staff.
  • Establish and monitoring department KPI's, establish housekeeping standards, and promote a positive safety culture by participating in BeSafe activities.
  • Lead and support LSPS activities and daily DMS meetings for Maintenance & Engineering.
  • Participate in accident investigations and serious incidents and assist with developing and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards across all departmental functions and participate in internal audits.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards for all departmental functions.
  • Assist with regulatory audits and inspections.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a maintenance or engineering department.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in Engineering and Maintenance or Operations
  • Demonstrated experience in CAPEX project management.
  • Experience with SAP PM module or similar ERP maintenance systems.
  • Familiarity with chemical processes, including:
  • Distillation
  • Solvent filling
  • Cryogenic gases
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) processes.
  • Experience with Risk Management Plan (RMP) processes.

Pay Range for this position: $143,800 - $214,600.

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
