Position SummaryThe Speech Language Pathologist II provides direct patient care in the assessment and treatment of communication (speech and language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing disorders. This role serves primarily pediatric and adolescent populations, with select adult patients on a case-by-case basis.
The Speech Language Pathologist II collaborates within interdisciplinary teams, maintains regulatory-compliant clinical documentation, supports program development activities, and contributes to the training and supervision of graduate students or clinical fellows.
Essential Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, oral motor, and feeding/swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient and family needs
- Deliver direct clinical services to neonate, pediatric, and adolescent patients, with limited adult populations as appropriate
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with:
- Kennedy Krieger Institute standards
- Joint Commission, CARF, and ASHA requirements
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning
- Supervise and mentor speech-language pathology graduate students and/or clinical fellows, consistent with experience and licensure
- Support departmental initiatives such as continuing education, quality improvement, and program development
- Maintain active professional licensure, certifications, and affiliations at the state and national level
- Participate in departmental, Institute-wide, and community outreach activities as needed
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Full and current licensure from the Maryland Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers & Speech-Language Pathologists
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Minimum of three (3) years of licensed clinical experience (including CFY), with:
- At least two (2) years of documented experience in area of specialty
Minimum pay range: USD $83,949.00/Yr. Maximum pay range: USD $108,245.00/Yr.
