Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support at the front desk, ensuring smooth clinic operations and excellent patient service. This role involves managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate medical records within a fast-paced medical office environment. Experience with EMR systems is preferred . Bilingual skills and clinic experience are a plus. The Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by handling administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations. Duties
- Greet patients professionally and provide excellent customer service
- Schedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) system Charm Health
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with attention to accuracy and confidentiality
- Maintain and update patient records in EMR system Charm Health
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Answer multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette; handle appointment rescheduling and inquiries
- Support clinic staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), and document management
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information privacy
- Manage front desk operations including patient intake, appointment reminders, and care plan documentation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; dental office experience is a plus
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Charm Health, Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
- Outstanding customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance in all aspects of patient information management
