Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role combines clinical support with front-office responsibilities, ensuring smooth patient flow and high-quality care delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient service skills, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Experience in dermatology, injections, Colon hydrotherapy, is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out processes
- Collect patient information, update medical records, and verify insurance details
- Assist with patient intake and documenting medical history
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient examinations and procedures
- Support clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing basic life support when necessary
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate follow-up visits using EHR systems
- Handle administrative duties including answering phones, managing patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate documentation
- Support ICD coding, documentation for billing purposes, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Keep an organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols
Experience
- Prior experience in medical administrative support or clinical assisting in outpatient or inpatient settings is preferred
- Knowledge of dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or geriatrics is advantageous
- Familiarity with EHR systems, ICD coding, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration is essential
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is highly desirable
- Previous roles involving patient care in medical-surgical units or internal medicine clinics will be considered a strong asset
- Proven ability to handle fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and compassionate patient service
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
