Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing front desk operations with efficiency and compassion. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with medical office procedures, and the ability to handle sensitive health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Prompt, WebPT, Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, or Dentrix is highly desirable. The Front Desk Receptionist will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation review, and excellent patient service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service
  • Schedule appointments and manage medical appointments using EMR/EHR systems
  • Collect payments (copayments, co-insurance, deductibles)
  • Manage multi-line phone systems, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
  • Assist with patient intake processes, including data entry and form completion
  • Handle appointment reminders, cancellations, and rescheduling in a timely manner
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and data security
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and documentation accuracy
  • Maintaining a clean and organized front office
  • Assist with cleaning duties throughout the office

Skills

  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Prompt, WebPT, Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, or Dentrix
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and insurance processes including Medicare
  • Excellent phone etiquette with multi-line phone system handling skills
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and record keeping
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing)
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly
  • Previous experience in a medical or dental office environment is preferred but not required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
