CDL, Local Delivery Driver

Big Mike's Rental Sales & Service is a complete rental service for contractors & homeowners. This document outlines the requirements, reporting relationships, authority, responsibilities, duties, and measurements of performance for the position of Rental Store Manager of Big Mike's Rentals.

Role Overview:

The BMR CDL Local Delivery Driver is responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient rental experience by delivering equipment safely and in proper working condition. The role primarily involves local vehicle operation, including positioning, loading, unloading, and moving the truck, performing basic preventive maintenance on vehicles and rental equipment, and ensuring all store property is clean and well-maintained.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Required: CDL, Class A
• Preferred: 1 year experience
• Required: High School or equivalent
• Required: English language and comprehension

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Operate company-owned trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations
• Maintain all required certification required by OSHA, DOT and company safety programs 
• Deliver machinery and rental equipment
• Loads and unloads cargo, ensuring it is properly secured for transport
• Perform preventative maintenance, including refueling and keeping vehicle clean
• Maintain and repair rental equipment
• Ensure machinery and equipment is clean and ready for customer use
• Be knowledgeable of all BMR equipment and its proper usage
• Completes paperwork such as delivery logs, mileage records, and fuel receipts
• Exceptional customer service during delivery and pick up operations
• Safe work practices and use of personal protective equipment 
• Clear communication and foster a cohesive and collaborative work culture
• Exceptional customer service by maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, acknowledging all customers promptly
• Protects the company's value by keeping proprietary information confidential
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Performs all other assigned duties by management

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Physical effort requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders, gripping, reach with hands and arms, carrying, climb up and down stairs. Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and keyboarding. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Exposure to dust, exposure to extreme weather conditions. Visual abilities, near and far vision, depth perception.

Work Hours and Environment:

Monday to Friday, 7:30AM – 4:30PM; The work environment is a dynamic retail setting with continuous customer interaction. 

Pay Rate:

$19 - $21/hr

Employment with Gallup Welder Supply is on an "at-will" basis.
