About Us:
Northern Living Center is a warm, family-oriented residential assisted living home in Wasilla, Alaska. Our home is a small community with just 12 beds, allowing us to provide individualized and compassionate care to each of our residents. Position Summary:
As a Caregiver at Northern Living Center, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to our residents. You will assist with daily living activities, ensure residents' physical and emotional well-being, and create a positive and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for caring for the elderly, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping others in a small, intimate setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and eating.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, ensuring their dignity and respect.
  • Monitor residents' health status, including vital signs, and report changes to management or nursing staff.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and according to facility protocols.
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding assistance.
  • Ensure cleanliness and comfort of residents' rooms.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, families, and healthcare providers to ensure optimal care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in caregiving, preferably in an assisted living or long-term care setting.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, infection control protocols, and safe caregiving practices.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred, or willingness to obtain).
  • CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or other relevant certifications (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
