Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items with efficiency, consistency, and attention to detail, ensuring all dishes meet high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Follow recipes accurately and adapt to special dietary requirements or menu changes as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols at all times.
  • Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste and maximize freshness.
  • Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability, seasonal offerings, and innovative dish ideas.
  • Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards.
  • Use knife skills proficiently for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food preparation techniques.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods and coordinate meal timing efficiently.
  • Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety standards.
  • Contribute positively to the team environment by serving as a reliable team player who supports colleagues in achieving shared goals.

Experience
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a fast-paced restaurant or culinary setting, preferably with exposure to fine dining environments. Experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should possess strong culinary skills including food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife proficiency. A background in food service within the food industry—such as restaurant experience or catering—is highly valued. Familiarity with menu planning, food safety practices, and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs will set you apart. Previous roles involving food handling, kitchen operations, or culinary arts will provide a solid foundation for success in this role.
