Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, access control, fire alarms, sensors and security systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and system design documents to ensure precise installation and maintenance.
• Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues with existing systems and perform repairs or upgrades using hand tools and power tools.
• Manage cabling infrastructure for security networks, telecommunication lines, and power supplies while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
• Utilize remote access software to monitor system performance remotely and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with clients during alarm system sales consultations to recommend appropriate low voltage solutions tailored to their needs.
• Perform construction-related tasks such as conduit bending, cable pulling, and mounting hardware in various building environments.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards including NEC regulations and local codes; maintain detailed documentation of work performed.
• Assist in system design efforts by providing input on schematics, sensor placement, and integration strategies for comprehensive security solutions.

Experience

• Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems such as data networks, CCTV cameras, alarm systems, fire alarms, sensors, or security networks.
• Strong electrical background with hands-on experience working with wiring methods compliant with NEC standards.
• Familiarity with computer networking concepts including IP configurations for surveillance cameras and remote system access.
• Mechanical aptitude for working with hand tools, power tools, construction materials, and schematics interpretation.
• Knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure and cabling practices essential for system integration.
• Experience in system design or troubleshooting complex security or automation systems is highly desirable.
• Ability to read technical schematics accurately and follow detailed installation procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction during sales consultations or service calls.
