We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring that our inventory data is up-to-date and reliable. A sharp attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and experience in inventory management within a logistics setting are highly valued. Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure accurate record-keeping in the inventory management system.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential stock-outs.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient flow of goods.
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of all inventory items.
- Train other staff members on inventory control best practices.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE when working with inventory or in the warehouse.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, turnover, and other key metrics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and practices.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and systems (e.g., WMS, ERP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform regular lifting and physical movement within the warehouse.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a logistics or supply chain environment is a must.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
