Our Detroit, Michigan facility is seeking a diligent Warehouse Coordinator to manage and optimize our warehouse operations. This role involves overseeing inventory management, coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods. You will be instrumental in maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all warehouse activities comply with safety and operational standards. This position requires strong organizational skills and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory management processes to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Coordinate the scheduling and execution of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Manage relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and receipts using the WMS.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and governmental requirements.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflow for maximum efficiency.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to inventory or shipments.
- Train and supervise warehouse staff on specific tasks and procedures.
- Generate reports on key warehouse performance indicators (KPIs).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
- Proven experience in warehouse coordination or a similar logistics role.
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics best practices.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
