Seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our New York City, New York logistics team. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse by ensuring materials are moved, organized, and prepared for distribution. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching materials, as well as maintaining an orderly warehouse environment. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. We are looking for individuals who can work effectively in a dynamic urban logistics setting.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials, verifying against purchase orders.
- Sort, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Retrieve materials for production or shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and dollies, safely.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stocktaking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for all tasks.
- Support the logistics team with various operational duties as needed.
- Ensure adherence to lifting guidelines and safe handling procedures.
- Perform tasks that involve significant lifting and movement of goods.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with frequent lifting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Experience with manual material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Understanding of logistics processes is a plus.
