Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to oversee inventory accuracy at our Des Moines, Iowa distribution center. This critical role ensures the integrity of our stock levels, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving all inventory discrepancies, and implementing robust processes to prevent future stock errors. Utilizing our Warehouse Management System (WMS), you will track inventory movements, process adjustments accurately, and generate comprehensive reports for management. Strong analytical skills are essential for identifying trends and optimizing inventory performance. This position requires collaboration with various warehouse departments, including receiving, shipping, and operations, to ensure seamless inventory flow and maintain optimal stock levels. We are committed to maintaining a secure, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. Strict adherence to all company Safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE , is mandatory. While this role is primarily analytical, occasional manual Lifting of inventory items may be required. Your expertise is fundamental to the efficiency of our entire Logistics network, directly impacting cost control, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness by ensuring reliable stock availability and minimizing errors. Responsibilities:
  • Execute and manage cycle count programs to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Process inventory adjustments, receipts, and transfers within the WMS accurately.
  • Develop, document, and refine inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Analyze inventory data, prepare reports, and provide insights to management.
  • Maintain organization, product identification, and proper storage within the warehouse.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Understanding of warehouse Logistics , supply chain principles, and workplace Safety standards.
