We are seeking a reliable Distribution Center Associate to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that keep our distribution center running smoothly and efficiently. Your duties will include receiving and processing incoming shipments, accurately picking and packing orders for customers, stocking inventory, and preparing outgoing shipments. You will be an integral part of our logistics network, ensuring the timely flow of goods. Safety is paramount in our operations, and you will be required to strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting (up to 60 lbs), standing, walking, and operating warehouse equipment. Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and order fulfillment integrity. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, verify, and store incoming inventory accurately.
- Pick items from warehouse locations based on customer orders with high accuracy.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently for shipment, ensuring product integrity.
- Stage outgoing shipments and coordinate with carriers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in accordance with logistics standards.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts – certification may be required) safely.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with inventory management.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform tasks involving significant lifting, typically up to 60 lbs.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or logistics role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent heavy lifting, standing, and walking.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Team-oriented with good communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
