Seeking a skilled Inventory Control Specialist for our Des Moines, Iowa facility. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is fundamental to our logistics operations. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory control procedures, conducting audits, and maintaining precise records. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory counts.
- Reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Maintain accurate inventory data within the company's ERP/WMS.
- Develop and refine inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and provide reports on stock status.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to optimize stock levels.
- Identify and manage slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse and logistics functions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a related field.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (WMS/ERP).
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of logistics principles and supply chain best practices.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Awareness of workplace safety, including proper lifting techniques and the importance of PPE.
- Effective communication skills.
