We are seeking an energetic and dependable Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient movement, organization, and storage of materials within our facility. This role is vital for the smooth functioning of our logistics operations, ensuring products are handled correctly from receipt to dispatch. You will be a key contributor to maintaining an organized and safe work environment, supporting various warehouse functions.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Stock materials in their designated locations within the warehouse.
- Transport items to and from various work areas as required.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Assist with inventory counts and audits to maintain accuracy.
- Ensure all materials are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Use required PPE and follow all company safety protocols.
- Support shipping and receiving teams as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics procedures.
- Ability to perform manual lifting, up to 45 lbs, on a regular basis.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following instructions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both individually and as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for the duration of the shift.
