We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial for the efficient and safe operation of our warehouse. You will be expected to perform all duties in a manner consistent with company policies and safety regulations. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment issues promptly.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order and report any defects.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and quantities.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including sweeping, organizing, and tidying up work areas.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Understand and follow warehouse layouts and safety guidelines for efficient navigation.
- This position requires significant lifting and the ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification (or ability to obtain).
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must wear required PPE at all times.
