We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be instrumental in the movement and organization of materials within our facility. Responsibilities include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are stored in designated areas according to logistics best practices. Your attention to detail will be critical for maintaining accurate inventory levels and preventing damage to goods. Safety is our top priority; therefore, strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires the ability to perform tasks involving substantial lifting, often exceeding 50 lbs, and involves continuous physical activity. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure the efficient flow of materials, supporting production and distribution efforts. A strong understanding of warehouse safety, experience with various types of forklifts, and a commitment to a safe working environment are essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Organize and stack materials according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Conduct daily inspections of material handling equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory levels.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the strict use of required PPE.
- Perform tasks involving heavy lifting, often up to 60 lbs or more.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Follow all logistics and warehouse operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator required.
- Valid forklift operator certification (or ability to obtain).
- Proven ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing and maneuvering.
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
