Role Overview As a Senior Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Civil & Structural design process from concept through to completion, ensuring the successful delivery of high‑quality projects across our clients portfolio.
This position offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects and influence the future of the built environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and coordinating the design process across Civil and Structural to achieve integrated solutions.
Leading design reviews and ensuring compliance with project requirements, regulations, and industry standards.
Collaborating closely with internal teams, external consultants, contractors and stakeholders to maintain design integrity and project objectives.
Providing leadership and guidance to design teams, fostering innovation and best practices.
Overseeing budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.
Supporting project delivery through all stages, including site visits, client meetings, and quality assurance checks.
Requirements
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related subject
8+ years of experience in C&S design management with a Tier‑1 Contractor
Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary design teams on complex projects
Strong understanding of UK building regulations, planning processes, and industry standards
Proficiency in design coordination tools and software
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong organizational and leadership abilities
A proactive, solution‑focused mindset with the ability to work under pressure
Chartered status or working towards chartership is desirable
Salary up to £90K (DoE)
