Built for brands that want to sell anything - anywhere, Swap centralises global operations, powers intelligent workflows, and unlocks margin-protecting decisions with real-time data and capability. Our products span cross-border, tax, returns, demand planning, and our next-generation agentic storefront, giving merchants full transparency and the ability to act with confidence.
At Swap, we’re building a culture that values clarity, creativity, and shared ownership as we redefine how global commerce works.
About the role We are looking for a
Senior QA Engineer
/
SDET
to work with product, engineering, and our Agentic AI team building an agentic storefront and new e-commerce workflows. You will lead quality across a complex system, define the QA strategy and operating model from scratch, and build the tooling, processes, and automation needed to ship reliably.
Responsibilities
Own QA strategy and execution for agentic AI and core ecommerce flows (definition of done, quality gates, release readiness).
Define and roll out QA processes from scratch: test planning, risk assessment, defect triage, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Lead cross-team alignment on quality standards and drive adoption through coaching and clear workflows.
Design test architecture across unit/integration/contract/E2E, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and signal quality.
Build and maintain automation and CI/CD integration; reduce flakiness and improve time-to-signal.
Define AI-specific validation for agent workflows: tool-calling paths, multi-step journeys, failure handling, regressions, and guardrails.
Partner on system design to identify bottlenecks and failure modes; propose changes that improve testability, observability, and resilience.
Requirements
5+ years in QA / quality engineering for modern web products (APIs + UI).
Strong coding skills and hands-on automation experience (language flexible; Python/TypeScript common).
Proven track record of building QA processes and test strategy from scratch in a fast-moving environment.
Strong leadership and ownership: can organize work across teams, set direction, and drive execution without formal authority.
Solid CI/CD experience: test automation in pipelines, quality gates, environment strategy, and test data management.
Strong engineering mindset and system design skills; able to reason about distributed systems and propose pragmatic improvements.
Stock options in a high-growth startup.
Competitive PTO with public holidays additional.
Private Health.
Pension.
Wellness benefits.
Breakfast Mondays.
Diversity & Equal Opportunities We embrace diversity and equality in a serious way. We are committed to building a team with a variety of backgrounds, skills, and views. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. Creating a culture of equality isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s also the smart thing.
