Nursing Faculty

John Brown University seeks a full-time faculty member in Nursing beginning in Fall 2026. This position reports to the Nursing Department Chair. Responsibilities include participating in clinical rotations, teaching in skills labs, developing curriculum, and providing classroom instruction. Teaching duties and courses are determined by the needs of the department and faculty experience and/or area(s) of expertise. The JBU Nursing Department is a young, CCNE-accredited program housed in an 8-year-old facility designed specifically for nursing education. The facility includes modern classrooms, a high-fidelity simulation lab, and other appropriate technology and faculty offices. Our BSN is a relationally focused program that implements a concept-based curriculum. The Nursing program is currently the largest major at John Brown University and is home to many first-generation and minority students.

Required Qualifications

• Registered nurse (RN) with a minimum of 5 years of nursing practice experience
• Hold (or be eligible for) an unencumbered license in the state of Arkansas
• Graduate degree in nursing
• A committed follower of Jesus Christ
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses
• Ability to contribute to the mission and vision of the institution in the department and more broadly at the institution
• A commitment to the integration of Christian faith and learning
• A commitment to supporting and collaborating with students, faculty, and staff from varied academic and cultural backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

• A terminal degree in nursing
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, including Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM), or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses and/or clinicals
• Membership and active participation in professional nursing organizations
• Demonstrated evidence of scholarly potential
• Experience leading nursing students in domestic and/or international service projects
• Evidence of successfully teaching, mentoring or working with people who have different perspectives, life experiences and cultural expressions
