Summary

The ideal candidate oversees the daily operations of The Game Room—a 5,000-square-foot arcade and family recreation venue located in The Boca Raton's Cloister. Reporting to the Program & Camp Manager, this position ensures exceptional guest and member experience through being proactive, monitoring the team , monitoring supplies, equipment functionality, cleanliness, and upholding Forbes Five-Star service standards.

This role supervises Game Room Attendants, coordinates maintenance and concession inventories, and ensures safety, cleanliness, and proper guest conduct within all Game Room areas, maintaining seamless operations across the arcade, family lounge, foosball room, and shuffleboard court (total occupancy 377).

Essential Functions

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

  • Supervise and lead daily operations of The Game Room, ensuring it remains safe, clean, and engaging for all guests and members.
  • Monitors weekly staff schedules, adjusting for business needs, private events, and peak occupancy periods.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, including powering on/off all games, concession equipment, lighting, and audio-visual systems.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure all arcade machines, TVs, and furnishings are functional and meet presentation standards.
  • Supervise concession operations, ensuring attendants follow the prescribed procedure and clean the machines nightly.
  • Communicates with management for ordering and inventory of napkins, cups, cleaning supplies, and concession items, ensuring par levels are maintained.
  • Maintain secure records and accountability for luxury retail items, including board games, pool cues, cue bags, and premium ping-pong paddles.
  • Train, coach, and motivate Game Room Attendants to deliver attentive, courteous, and professional service.
  • Enforce all guest policies, including dress code, supervision requirements for children, pet policy, and fair-play rotation of games.
  • Coordinate repairs and technical support with vendors and internal IT & engineering for arcade and equipment maintenance.
  • Monitor TV channels and audio content for appropriateness and family alignment.
  • Collaborate with the Monkey Bar team to ensure timely drink delivery and seamless integration of beverage service.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, attendance, and maintenance logs; communicate updates to the Manager.
  • Support private event rentals by coordinating set-up, staffing, and guest service to align with resort standards.
  • Collaborate with IT for systems for member and guest check-in tracking.
  • Ensures quarterly on site maintenance is arranged for games.
  • Ensure compliance with all ADA, safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the Game Room's four zones.

Internal Relationships

Reports to Program & Camp Manager. Supervises Game Room Attendants. Collaborates closely with the Youth & Family Programming team, Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, and Food & Beverage (Monkey Bar).

External Relationships

Has regular contact with Members, Hotel Guests, and Vendor partners for arcade operations, retail coordination, and technical maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in recreation, arcade, or hospitality environments.
  • Strong guest-service and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on professionalism and composure.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule, train, and motivate hourly staff.
  • Basic technical knowledge of electronic games, TVs, and Command Center systems.
  • Experience with supply ordering, inventory management, and vendor coordination.

Physical Requirements

Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
