Accountant

Job Summary

The Accountant oversees and directs all financial operations of the Club, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and strategic use of financial information. This role serves as a key business partner to the General Manager and leadership team, providing insight and guidance on cash management, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, and long-term financial planning. The Accountant develops and administers accounting, auditing, tax, and financial control policies, while also overseeing human resources administration related to hiring and benefits enrollment. This position prepares comprehensive financial statements, forecasts, and analyses; evaluates operational performance; and serves as the primary liaison to the Finance, Audit, and Employee Benefits Committees. The role includes leadership and professional development of the accounting staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

• Partner with the General Manager and department heads on strategic financial planning, cash management, forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis.
• Evaluate operating results, trends, budgets, revenues, and costs to identify efficiencies and opportunities for improved financial performance.
• Maintain and manage the Club's investment program, ensuring excess funds are invested appropriately to optimize cash flow.
• Monitor cash flows and safeguard all Club funds, ensuring timely and accurate deposits and disbursements.

Accounting, Reporting & Compliance

• Direct and/or prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, statements of changes in financial condition, and supporting schedules for operating and capital funds.
