We are actively seeking an experienced Assistant School Director to join our leadership team. We are looking for a proven leader who can contribute meaningfully from day one and accelerate key priorities.
Summary
Provide leadership support to enhance operational maturity, contribute to efficient operation, strengthen team performance, and ensure execution of daily needs and strategic initiatives including mid-cycle accreditation, enrollment planning, seasonal transitions, and daily operations. You will also help shape the experience of children, families, and teachers every day
Reports primarily to the Owner; collaborates with the School Director and Director of Education.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily school operations during absences of the School Director, ensuring full compliance with health, safety, licensing, and brand standards.
- Gain comprehensive working knowledge of all positions within the school to provide informed support and backup coverage.
- Partner with leadership to achieve and maintain maximum enrollment, strengthen family relationships, and support effective cost management.
- Advance key strategic projects including accreditation cycles, seasonal enrollment planning, transitions, and continuous process improvement.
- Cultivate a supportive, accountable culture that prioritizes health, safety, work-life balance, and strong relationships among staff, families, and children.
Required Qualifications & Experience
We are seeking candidates with proven operational leadership in a licensed childcare environment:
- Demonstrated success in operational leadership, team development, enrollment/retention strategies, and daily management within a high-performing childcare center or other similar child-centered business environment.
- Demonstrated operational maturity with calm and decisive leadership for managing daily needs in a center serving 150+ children and 50+ staff.
- Familiarity with project/task management platforms. Computer and Microsoft Office efficient.
- Experience supporting or leading accreditation processes (Cognia, Parent Aware or comparable) and planning in early education.
- Demonstrated professional maturity with communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to accountability, efficiency, and a confident, results-oriented leadership approach.
- Working knowledge of childcare management software (e.g., Procare/Tadpoles) or similar administrative software, and other project/task management platforms (quick learner required).

Hours Requirements: Full time 32-40 hours/week; must be able to open and/or close building with normal operating hours of 7:00am – 6:00pm. Reduced full-time schedule available (32 paid hours/week) for exceptional candidates with demonstrated ability to deliver results efficiently.
Salary Range: $52,000 to $62,000 annual salary (assumes 40-hour schedule); salary commensurate with experience
