Construction Estimator Commercial

Position Overview

We are looking for a driven, technically sharp Concrete Construction Estimator who knows how to win work. This is not a desk-only role, you'll own the estimating process from takeoff to contract, follow up aggressively on bids, and negotiate to close deals. If you're a self-starter who thrives on landing projects and takes pride in accuracy, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for concrete projects.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications
• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Follow up on submitted bids, persistently and professionally, to maximize win rate
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and scope to secure profitable contracts
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to strengthen proposals
• Track bid results, analyze wins and losses, and refine estimating approach
• Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to ensure accurate scoping
• Manage multiple bids and deadlines without sacrificing quality

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in concrete or heavy civil construction
• Deep technical knowledge of concrete construction methods, materials, and equipment
• Proven track record of winning bids and closing contracts
• Strong negotiation skills and business development mindset
• Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, HCSS, or similar)
• Excellent plan reading and quantity takeoff abilities
• Self-motivated with strong follow-through, you don't wait to be told what to do
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Valid driver's license
