Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal team member will play a vital role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various clinical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, dental coding, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
• Inventory management of dental supplies.
• Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care in areas such as prosthodontics and general dentistry.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a dental office setting is required.
• Proficiency in Dentrix Ascend or similar dental practice management software is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, and dental coding.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach towards patient care.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training is preferred but not mandatory.
