Your Role

As a Cook at Assurance Health, you will:

• Prepare and serve all meals according to established menus and physician diet orders.
• Ensure food is cooked safely, attractively, and on schedule for patient and staff meals.
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
• Conduct taste and temperature checks to ensure food safety and satisfaction.
• Properly store leftovers and minimize waste per health department standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in food prep, serving, and storage areas.
• Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering as needed.
• Review diet changes daily to ensure accurate meal preparation.
• Support and help train new dietary staff as directed.
• Follow all sanitation, infection control, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook in a healthcare or institutional setting preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food-handling practices and dietary restrictions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
