Application Performance Tester

Primary Role

IvoryCloud is seeking a dedicated Performance Test Engineer with deep expertise in JMeter to evaluate and enhance the speed, scalability, stability, and reliability of large-scale enterprise applications. This is not a functional QA or automation testing position. We are specifically seeking a performance testing specialist who can lead initiatives related to load, stress, and endurance testing in a modern DevOps/Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Evaluate existing performance test suites to identify gaps in coverage, configuration flaws, and opportunities for improvement

· Develop or enhance JMeter test plans and scripts to accurately simulate complex user and system load scenarios

· Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to identify system bottlenecks and recommend performance enhancements

· Define and execute load, stress, endurance, and spike testing scenarios

· Collect and analyze performance metrics (e.g., throughput, latency, error rate) to create actionable performance reports

· Contribute to the creation of performance test strategies and execution plans for enterprise systems

· Maintain version-controlled test artifacts and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines

· Ensure alignment with SLAs, SLOs, and application performance standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with JMeter is required.
• Demonstration of increasingly responsible experience in the fields of quality assurance and quality control.

Experience

· 5+ years hands-on performance testing experience using JMeter

· Expertise in test result analysis and identifying root causes of latency or system degradation

· Experience working with CI/CD tools and integrating performance tests into automated pipelines

· Experience testing web services, APIs, and microservices under various load profiles

· Familiarity with system monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Dynatrace, Grafana, Kibana)

· Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and metrics (TPS, response time, memory usage, etc.)

· Experience with other performance tools (e.g., Gatling, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter)

· Background in cloud-based or hybrid infrastructures (AWS, Azure)

· Experience with SQL and data profiling during performance tests

· Familiarity with Agile development and SAFe methodologies

· Basic knowledge of scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) to assist with test automation and data preparation

Education

B.S. in Business/Technology related field required.

Pay: $95, $110,000.00 per year
