Specialty Coffee Bar / Restaurant

About the Role

The General Manager leads the daily operations of one or more specialty coffee bars/restaurants, balancing thoughtful hospitality with strong financial and operational execution.

This hands-on role supports and develops teams, oversees staffing, compliance, catering, and sales growth, and works closely with company leadership to ensure consistent standards, smooth operations, and a welcoming guest experience.

This is a working leadership role for an experienced hospitality operator who enjoys being present on the floor, developing people, and taking an entrepreneurial approach to managing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day café operations to achieve financial and operational success, including sales growth, cost control, labor management, inventory, and budget performance.

  • Drive business growth through guest engagement, sales initiatives, and catering operations.

  • Oversee all catering activities, including sales, planning, execution, and follow-up.

  • Model company values and leadership standards while building strong working relationships across teams and throughout the organization.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of hospitality standards and maintain company standards across service, quality, cleanliness, organization, facilities, and equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, labor, and company regulations.

  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff; identify and develop future leaders.

  • Partner with Human Resources on performance management, including coaching, corrective action, and terminations.

  • Maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence, supporting peak periods and working café stations as needed.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, leadership, vendors, and partners.

  • Support company-wide initiatives, including assisting other locations, training managers, and representing the company at events as needed.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Leadership experience managing and developing teams in a hospitality environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively across teams and throughout the organization.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams while fostering strong, effective working relationships.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets, labor, inventory, and operating expenses.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and operational demands.

  • Comfort using scheduling, reporting, and standard business software.

  • Passion for hospitality and delivering a consistently welcoming guest experience.

  • Ability to taste food and coffee and evaluate quality and consistency.

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75, $80,000.00 per year
