Line Cook

Requirements

The Outpost Cafe is looking for an experienced line cook for evening shifts with a set schedule. You must have minimum 3 years experience working at a high volume restaurant or cafe as a short order cook, and be able to cook both breakfast and dinner dishes (our full menu is available all day). Fast food is not qualified line experience for our restaurant . You must be able to grill meat/fish to temperature as well have experience cooking eggs/omelets.

Our ideal candidate is dependable, possesses a positive attitude, and is willing to take direction. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs, stand an entire shift, work with county sanitation standards, and have a food handlers card. You will have a set schedule every week.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour + plus tips (tips add an average of $3-$6 per hour depending how busy we are that day)

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Thoroughly clean up station at closing and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
