Starting Role & Pay Structure
This position begins as a 3-month Assistant Manager (GM-in-Training) role at $18/hour. After 90 days, performance will be formally evaluated. If expectations for the General Manager role are met, compensation will increase to $20/hour, and the role will transition into General Manager.

This is a full-time, long-term leadership role intended for someone looking to make the studio their professional home—not a short-term or temporary position.

Role Mission

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success, culture, and growth of the HOTWORX studio. This includes leading staff, driving memberships, executing marketing initiatives, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and professionally representing the HOTWORX brand at all times.

This is a high-visibility, front-facing, social role. The GM sets the energy of the studio and builds strong relationships with members, staff, and the local community.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Primarily in-studio, with occasional additional hours for staff coverage, promotions, events, or training
  • Must be flexible and available to support studio operations as needed

This role is physically active, involving standing, walking throughout the studio, lifting boxes, setting up promotions, and moving equipment.

Key Responsibilities (Summary)

Leadership & Studio Operations

  • Oversee daily studio operations and maintain a welcoming, high-energy environment
  • Ensure cleanliness, safety, and equipment standards are consistently met
  • Maintain accurate member records, billing processes, payroll coordination, and reporting
  • Uphold HOTWORX brand standards and professionalism at all times

Team Management

  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop staff
  • Create and manage staff schedules and lead regular staff meetings
  • Set, track, and communicate sales goals and performance expectations
  • Motivate the team through creativity, accountability, and positive leadership

Sales, Marketing & Growth

  • Drive membership sales and lead generation
  • Execute in-studio and outside marketing promotions
  • Build local business partnerships and corporate accounts
  • Support social media engagement and community outreach
  • Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics

Customer Experience

  • Deliver and maintain a 5-star member experience
  • Resolve member concerns with professionalism and urgency
  • Foster a fun, supportive, and growth-focused studio culture
  • Actively support both studio growth and individual team development

Training & Certifications

  • HOTWORX Certification (initial and annual refresher required)
  • HOTWORX University online courses and ongoing training
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (required)
  • Attendance at regional trainings and annual HOTWORX Convention

  • Previous management or leadership experience preferred

  • Comfortable being the face of the studio

  • Currently active and knowledgeable in basic exercise science and/or wellness
