This job description reflects the general details considered necessary to fulfill the essential job functions and

job-related knowledge and skills may be required. This position will provide direct oversight and day-to-day
supervision and leadership to unique access points and activities. Participation may include, but not be limited
to, the Mobile Access Clinic, Occupational Health Program, Telemed services, and Population Health needs.
Mission of Department: The Ohio County Hospital Nursing Department exists to provide quality nursing
services to the patients/customers of Ohio County Hospital Corp., holistically, and address physical, educational,
mental, emotional, cultural, social, and spiritual needs by utilizing the nursing process.
Purpose of Job: Performs designated tasks for patients in all groups in the clinic and unique care settings. May
perform skills as appropriate within licensure. Tasks are performed in accordance with hospital and nursing
policies and procedures, as well as legal compliance policies. Must have good communication skills and support
teamwork in the delivery of patient care, as well as demonstrate customer relations consistent with the
hospital's purpose, vision, and values.
Experience/Education: Certification required. Keyboarding and basic computer skills preferred. Ability to follow
written and/or verbal instructions effectively. Emotional stability. Knowledgeable of health care field, medical
office protocols/procedures, and medical terminology. Experience in Occupational Medicine Services.
Working Environment: The usual work area is a well-ventilated area in a mobile trailer. Private exam areas are
well ventilated and well-lit. May require standing, walking, turning, bending, stooping, and lifting patients.
Direct patient care requires fine and gross motor skills. subject to bloodborne pathogens at all times in patient
care. May have exposure to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting agents). The environment may be
stressful at times; therefore, the ability to work under stressful conditions is necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Demonstrates appropriate age-speakers in completing assigned patient activities.
2. Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patient care.

6. May be requested to be a member of the QI team.
7. Frequently accesses email to stay up to date on information within the organization and provides a means of communication between staff members.
8. Assist with day-to-day operations of the mobile access clinic, team community events and those related to Occupational Medicine.
9. Assists in the pricing evaluation of services offered at the onset of service and annually.
10. Collaborates with necessary departments for writing the engagement agreements, setting up any necessary billing requirements, and workflow developments for completion of services.
11. Assist with care for patients who seek care at the mobile access clinic.
12. Assist with the education and training of the staff who will assist on the mobile access clinic.
13. Learn processes necessary to assist each task and service provided on the mobile access clinic.
14. Assist in coordinating the mobile access clinic schedule with practice managers.
15. May be scheduled in within an OCH clinic on days where the mobile clinic is not being utilized.
16. Demonstrates ability to build strong relationships with leadership and hospital employees.
17. Demonstrates ability and desire to build relationships within the community.
18. Works closely with marketing to schedule events and appropriately advertise.
19. Provide direct oversight and development of team members associated with the services provided within these engagements.
Performance Criteria:
1. Demonstrates appropriate age-appropriate skills in completing assigned patient activities.
A. Transports patients in a safe and timely fashion.
B. Uses correct policy and procedure for collection and labeling
C. Cleans and prepares exam rooms following each patient and all medical histories.
D. Understands and utilizes EMR when appropriate.
E. Demonstrates competency in performing or assisting in assigned procedures within scope. Accurately obtains patient history/information.
F. May perform simple lab and screening tests with competency.
G. Provides for patient privacy during any treatment. Properly disinfects equipment as per policy.
H. May be responsible for scheduling of tests or referrals and communicating to patient.
I. Review the general information the staff will need for the day's event.
J. Orient the staff to the location of supplies that might be needed.
K. May be scheduled in outpatient clinic areas if MAC is not in use.
L. Other duties as directed.
2. Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patient care
A. Takes necessary safety precautions.
B. Reports any faulty equipment, infection or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
C. Uses equipment and supplies in safe, efficient manner. Charge capture methods utilized according to established processes.
D. Occurrence reports completed as required by policy; may request assistance in completion. Timeliness of completion is to be as soon as possible after the occurrence, but no later than by the end of the shift being worked.
E. Knows and responds appropriately to all emergency codes. Reports to the assigned area during an emergency event and carries out assigned functions in a timely manner.
F. Knows and utilizes proper body mechanics.
G. Reports any Environment of Care hazards/risks to the appropriate personnel.
H. Assists other personnel in reducing clutter in the work environment – carts, equipment in the hallway.
I. Applies Safety Guidelines as appropriate for specific patient (age appropriate – pediatric, geriatric, orthopedic, surgical, etc.)
J. Makes appropriate requests for supplies or equipment needs.
K. Accountable for ensuring patient safety during the course of performing duties.
L. Communicate with staff (clinical, PSR if needed, driver) the event time and location.
M. Ensure staff is adequate for the event.
N. Ensure that IT needs and requirements are maintained and available.
O. Following the event – assurance that MAC is wiped down. Floors swept and mopped. Restock items used. Secure and lock. Power is shut down.
3. Upholds Standards of Nursing Practice for all age groups and Code of Ethics
A. Code of Ethics and Standards are consistently met.
B. Performs all assigned procedures according to the established policies and procedures of OCH.
C. Recognizes and supports the Patients Rights. Maintains confidentiality in all hospital matters. Adheres to HIPAA policies.
D. Adheres to Bloodborne Pathogen policies. Knows where to locate personal protective equipment and utilizes such appropriately.
E. Adheres to infection control/prevention policies, including the exposure control plan and employee health protocols.
F. Follows and upholds hospital personnel policies.
G. Committed to continuous performance improvement/quality improvement and actively participates in and supports the organization's improvement efforts.
H. Adheres to legal compliance policies.
4. Maintains and continues professional self-development and exhibits positive human relations.
A. Demonstrates ability to build strong relationship with leadership and OCH employees.
B. Demonstrates ability and desire to build relationships within the community.
C. Works closely with marketing to schedule events and appropriately advertise.
D. Works with providers to assist them in their various roles.
E. Attends minimum of 50% of educational offerings that pertain to assigned areas and applicable mandatory offerings. These educational offerings may include at least one hour on fire, safety, and mass disaster, and at least 2 hours on infection control/prevention.
F. Maintain BLS provider status.
G. Maintain clinical skills as evidenced through competency testing and on-going performance as observed by supervisory staff.
H. Accepts supervision. Seeks guidance/assistance as needed and accepts supervisory feedback non-defensively.
I. Attends a minimum of 80% of staff meetings per year.
J. Demonstrates a cooperative attitude when interacting with others.
K. Tactful – maintains composure and is diplomatic in all situations.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current certification as an APRN.
2. DOT Certified Examiner
3. Current CPR certification (or be willing to obtain within 6 months).
4. Experience: Preferred 2 years, with additional experience preferred in Occupational Medicine
