SUMMARY:
The Product Information Manager position requires a detail-oriented and strategic minded individual who champions the management, optimization, and governance of product data. This role is responsible for ensuring product information is accurate, complete, consistent, and optimized across all selling channels and business systems requiring product data. Regular collaboration is required across business teams, including merchandising, marketing, eCommerce, information technologies and supply chain as examples, with the goal of delivering high quality, enriched and accurate product information that generates best-in-class customer experiences. This role will alsooversee the creation, management, and optimization of product detail pages for our online stores, including supervising the product display page production process, ensuring every PDP is accurate, compelling, visually engaging and designed to maximize conversion.
Familiarity with PIM software platforms and related tools such as ERP systems, CMS, or e-commerce platforms.
In-depth understanding of PIM systems, including data modeling, data governance, and system configuration to manage product data effectively.
Proficiency in managing product data, including attributes, descriptions, images, and metadata, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Understanding of e-commerce operations, including product catalog management, SKU lifecycle, and website content presentation standards.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; Ability to summarize and present information to business and management teams in a clear, concise and complete manner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- PIM Ownership & Management
- Assist with implementation and serve as the primary owner of the Product Information Management (PIM) system, ensuring accurate and consistent product data across all channels.
- Define, implement, and maintain product data standards, taxonomies, and attributes.
- Manage PIM workflows, data imports/exports, and integrations with ERP, ecommerce, marketplace platforms and any other business system requiring product data.
- Product Data Governance & Quality
- Establish and enforce product data governance policies and best practices.
- Monitor product data accuracy, completeness, and enrichment, driving continuous improvement.
- Audit and resolve product data issues to support smooth digital and operational processes.
- Optimization & Enrichment
- Drive enrichment of product content (descriptions, attributes, SEO tags, images, videos) for improved discoverability and conversion.
- Support digital merchandising strategies through enhanced product data and categorization.
- Analyze product data performance and recommend enhancements for customer experience.
- PDP Production
- Champion and oversee the end-to-end PDP creation process, from initial product setup through product release for sale.
- Manage product onboarding workflows and team, ensuring new items are published on time.
- Ensure all product copy, specifications, pricing, images, and digital assets are accurate, complete, and aligned with brand standards.
- Audit PDPs regularly for accuracy, consistency, and performance.
- Establish standards and best practices for PDP content and presentation.
- Troubleshoot issues with product data, assets, or display.
- Monitor PDP metrics (conversion, bounce rate, SEO rankings, add-to-cart rates).
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve product content effectiveness.
- Test new PDP elements, templates, and enhancements to drive continuous improvement
- Customer Service Liaison
- Serve as a liaison to gather customer insights such as product information gaps, customer sentiments and pain points, cross-sell/upsell opportunities, compile Return and Complaint data and collaborate with buyers on action plans.
- Additional projects as assigned
Required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Familiarity with PIM software platforms and related tools such as ERP systems, CMS, or e-commerce platforms.

- Strong ability to analyze product data, identify discrepancies, and implement solutions to maintain data integrity and enhance user experience, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Awareness of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., data privacy, product labeling) to ensure compliance with product information management.
- Strong, enthusiastic self-starter with a creative, innovative and collaborative attitude.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and ensure smooth execution of SKU onboarding processes from procurement to website display.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; Ability to summarize and present information to business and management teams in a clear, concise and complete manner.

- General experience with eCommerce and business related technology such as eCommerce platforms, website administration interfaces, A/B testing tools, website search platforms, analytics tools, eCommerce merchandising tools, content personalization tools, etc. Possesses confidence in learning and understanding new technologies that can be leveraged to achieve objectives.
- Strong proficiency in interpreting and utilizing analytical and customer interaction data to identify effective and actionable business insights that promote measurable improvements in business success and operational efficiencies.
- Knowledge and experience with outdoor related pursuits such as shooting, hunting, fishing, camping, etc. and the products used within those activities a plus.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic web development principles.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, UX Design or a related field, or relevant field or equivalent work-related experience required.
