BACKEND DEVELOPER

Innovien is currently hiring for a backend Devloper to join as a resource for one of our clients within the Aerospace, Aviation, and Defense sector that will be working 100% remote anywhere in the US This Backend Developer will help design, develop, and maintain their internal App Store for Data Products, this platform will help bridge the gap between technical teams and business users by connecting internal products/capabilities to users. Therefore, this Developer will be responsible for developing scalable APIs, optimizing database performance, integrate with cloud resources, implement testing and CI/CD, and plan for knowledge management across interconnected data products. BACKEND DEVELOPER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python using Django as a framework/library
• Strong proficiency in Django framework including Django REST Framework for API development
• Production Environment, full application in Django ideally connecting to a backend database - API connections
• Experience deploying and managing applications on (AWS, Azure, or GCP to any cloud experiences)
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks (pytest, unittest) and test-driven development practices
• Understanding of RESTful API design principles and CI/CD pipelines

PLUS SKILLS:

• Experience with Azure DevOps or other Azure services
• Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring/user tracking software
• Background in agile development methodologies

BACKEND DEVELOPER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain a robust platform using Django
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs to support development tools and operational workflows
• Work with PostgreSQL databases, including schema design for complex system relationships
• Deploy and manage applications on Azure cloud infrastructure
• Implement comprehensive testing strategies including unit tests, integration tests, and API testing
• Integrate knowledge graph technologies to map relationships between systems, processes, and data
• Write clean, maintainable Python code following best practices and coding standards
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
