POSITION: Bookkeeper

JOB TYPE: Part-Time (approximately 30 hours/week) with potential for full-time

LOCATION: Grande Prairie, Alberta

SALARY/WAGE: Starting at $30.00/hour (commensurate with experience)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is assisting Crafted Builders in the recruitment of a Bookkeeper to support their growing construction business. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, highly organized professional who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle and working closely with project teams. The Bookkeeper will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project cost tracking, and ensuring timely reporting to help drive informed business decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage both accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P), including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and reconciliations
  • Execute accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Perform precise and consistent data entry
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations (bank, credit cards, vendor accounts, etc.)
  • Prepare and file GST returns
  • Produce monthly financial statements and provide biweekly accounting updates to the team
  • Support project financial management, including:
    • Job cost tracking
    • Progress invoicing
    • Draw requests
  • Maintain strong collaboration and communication with external accountants and financial professionals
  • Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated experience in full-cycle bookkeeping, ideally in construction or a project-based environment
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Buildertrend or similar construction management software
  • Solid understanding of payroll, GST, and financial reporting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion when handling financial information
  • Positive, proactive, and self-motivated approach to work; takes initiative and demonstrates reliability
  • Flexible and adaptable; willing to learn and implement new tools and systems
