As Mackinac Island's only full-service, casually elegant resort, we are seeking an enthusiastic and service-driven Restaurant Host to join our culinary team and ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive.
About the Role
The Restaurant Host is the first point of contact for our guests and plays a key role in creating a polished and inviting dining experience. This hands-on position includes greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, coordinating waitlists, and supporting servers and dining staff to ensure smooth operations.
This position is ideal for a guest-focused professional who enjoys interaction, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Previous host, front-of-house, or hospitality experience preferred but not required
- Professional Traits: Friendly, professional, organized, reliable, and committed to exceptional guest service
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle guest inquiries and concerns with patience and professionalism
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with guests from diverse backgrounds
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly during busy service times
- Location Requirement: Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island during the operating season
