About This Opportunity

The Design Assistant supports the Baby, Infant & Toddler apparel and accessories design team by assisting with trend research, market shopping, tech pack creation, sample tracking, and cross-functional communication with merchandising, sourcing, production, and technical teams. This role is hands-on and provides exposure across the full product development lifecycle, with opportunities to contribute original design work as skills develop.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to

· Assist in seasonal market and competitive shopping for trends, fabrics, colors, silhouettes, and accessories.

· Support creation of mood boards, color cards, fabric/trim libraries, and seasonal design concepts.

· Set up and maintain tech packs including sketches, BOMs, specs, colorways, and artwork details.

· Request, track, and organize development, fit, and sales samples; maintain sample logs.

· Participate in fit sessions and sample reviews; document notes and update tech packs accordingly.

· Assist in preparing line sheets, presentation decks, and sales/line review materials.

· Communicate with domestic and overseas partners to manage sample timing and development needs.

· Maintain design archives, digital asset libraries, and FileMaker/PLM or shared drive organization.

· Support Design Director in developing capsule collections or accessories as skills progress.

Qualifications:

· –3 years of experience in apparel or accessories design or product development.

· Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred.

· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office; FileMaker/PLM experience a plus.

· Understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, fabrics, trims, and basic specs.

· Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member.

· Must be able to protect confidential and proprietary information.
