Job Summary
Provides primary health care to a specific patient population within the guidelines of written protocols. Follows established nursing standards, procedures, and practices.

Accountabilities

• Obtains medical histories or performs physical examinations. 15%
• As appropriate to area of expertise, provides health maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals; provides well child care, including screening and immunizations; provides prenatal care and family planning services. 15%
• Diagnoses, treats, and monitors chronic diseases such as diabetes or high blood pressure. 15%
• Collaborates with physician and other health professionals as needed.15%
• 5Writes orders for the interprets laboratory studies, x-rays, special tests, medications, treatments, and other matters pertaining to patients' care. 15%
• Prescribes medications and other treatments. 15%
• General Job Expectations:

• -Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established standards.

• -Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. 10%

Minimum Education

Master's Degree - Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

SC Nurse Practitioner

Prescriptive Authority South Carolina Nursing License

South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner

South Carolina Controlled Substance license; Federal DEA license
