IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATE MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE STOCK WORKER TITLE, OR BE REACHABLE ON THE CIVIL SERVICE LIST, EXAM # 2100, OR ELIGIBLE UNDER THE 55A PROGRAM.

The Citywide Concrete Unit supports the agency's goal to enhance, rehabilitate, and maintain the City's infrastructure by acting as the agency's primary construction unit. We employ dedicated engineers, managers, support staff, laborers and adopt cost-savings and efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and service to safety and quality.

Under supervision of the Operational Supervisor, the selected candidate will be responsible for checking and receiving, inspecting, loading onto and unloading from trucks supplies and materials; distributing materials, tools and inventory to crews and various yard locations; storing purchased tools, materials, and supplies in Bays and Storerooms; maintaining the grounds of the facility and provide field assistance as needed. Responsible for reconciling purchase orders with sales orders, and distribute received inventory to designated field personnel. Facilitate inventory management and provide timely updates to the Supervisor about inventory status. Update records of inventory in the Unit's computer systems; generate reports documenting lost or stolen materials, questionable conditions, and quality benchmark results. Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pick up according to schedule. Candidate will operate equipment (not limited to) Forklifts to move materials and items from receiving and storage areas of the facility.

Preferred Skills

Preference will be given to candidate as follows: - Prior experience working in warehouses or stockrooms - Knowledgeable about inventory software - Be able to lift a minimum of 70 pounds - Willing and able to climb a ladder - Possess a driver's license valid in the state of New York. This license must be maintained throughout duration of employment

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
