Job DescriptionRole Overview:
We are seeking a confident, dependable, and people-oriented Medical Assistant who can deliver outstanding patient care while maintaining a professional and welcoming front-office presence. The ideal candidate is customer-facing, personable, and capable of building strong patient relationships while balancing clinical precision with administrative excellence. Fluency or proficiency in Spanish is a strong plus, as it enhances our ability to serve a diverse patient population. The role involves clinical duties and front desk, and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Administrative Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing an excellent first impression of the clinic.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient intake efficiently.
- Handle phone calls and patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Collect co-pays, assist with billing documentation, and support daily operational flow.
- Coordinate seamlessly between clinical and administrative teams to ensure patient satisfaction and smooth clinic operations.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Assist the Nurse Practitioner and clinical team during patient assessments, examinations, and procedures.
- Perform and document patient vital signs, EKGs, vaccinations, and venipuncture (blood draws).
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
- Manage, label, and process laboratory specimens accurately.
- Support patient education and ensure understanding of treatment plans and follow-up steps.
- Maintain accurate and timely entries in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent required; Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Experience: 3–6 years in a clinical or outpatient setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
- Language:Spanish-speaking skills strongly preferred.
