Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager to lead the execution of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar photovoltaic projects from contract award through commissioning and closeout. This role is responsible for schedule, budget, coordination, and overall project delivery, working closely with internal engineering, construction, subcontractors, utilities, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Manage solar PV projects from notice to proceed through commissioning and closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost tracking
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, weekly progress meetings, and internal coordination calls
  • Coordinate field operations with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Track procurement and delivery of long-lead equipment (modules, inverters, racking, transformers)
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and change management

Permitting, Utility & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Manage permitting processes with AHJs (DOB, FDNY, local building departments)
  • Coordinate interconnection with utilities (Con Edison, PSEG, National Grid, etc.)
  • Schedule and support inspections, approvals, and utility witness testing
  • Interface with owners, developers, inspectors, and third-party engineers

Engineering & Design Coordination

  • Coordinate engineering deliverables and review drawings for constructability
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications
  • Ensure field installation aligns with approved drawings and contract documents

Construction Oversight & Quality Control

  • Monitor construction progress, safety compliance, and workmanship quality
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively
  • Support commissioning, punch list resolution, and system turnover
  • Manage punch list

Project Closeout

  • Deliver complete closeout packages including as-builts, warranties, and O&M manuals
  • Support incentive and rebate documentation where applicable (e.g., NYSERDA)
  • Ensure contractual and financial closeout of assigned projects

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing commercial solar PV projects
  • Strong understanding of solar EPC project execution and electrical construction practices
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project (or equivalent), Excel, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Procore project management software
  • New York / Northeast solar market experience
  • Experience with NYC DOB, FDNY, and Con Edison
  • Experience managing rooftop, carport, and ground-mount PV systems
  • Familiarity with HelioScope or similar solar modeling tools
  • NYSERDA or incentive program experience
  • NABCEP certification (preferred, not required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80, $130,000.00 per year
