Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a portfolio of DevOps-led projects for a large financial services client. The role will work closely with existing DevOps and engineering teams, contributing across the full delivery lifecycle including analysis, planning, data extraction, application build, testing, migration, and post-go-live support.
This is a hands‑on role suited to a proactive, delivery-focused BA who is comfortable operating in complex, regulated environments and can take ownership of outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Support multiple projects across a DevOps portfolio, working closely with engineering, platform, and operations teams
Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements from a wide range of stakeholders
Perform analysis, planning, and impact assessments to support application build, testing, migration, and release activities
Assist with data extraction, validation, and analysis to support project delivery and decision-making
Contribute to testing phases, defect triage, and post-live support activities
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimisation within DevOps workflows
Support incident analysis and root cause investigations, working collaboratively to resolve issues
Produce clear documentation, reports, and stakeholder communications
Required Technical Experience
Strong experience working in DevOps environments
Hands‑on experience with tools such as:
Jira
Confluence
GitHub
CI/CD and build & deployment tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible)
Monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Splunk)
Preferred Skills & Experience
5+ years’ experience in software delivery within banking, financial services, or fintech
Proven ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and a “can-do” attitude (high priority)
Strong problem‑solving skills with experience troubleshooting issues and identifying root causes (high priority)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across teams and stakeholders (high priority)
Experience working within large, complex, matrix organisations
Broad understanding of IT controls, governance, and best practices
Experience mapping and analysing process flows to identify automation and optimisation opportunities
Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Familiarity with database concepts and the ability to query and analyse data
Experience with M&A, system integrations, or divestitures (desirable, not essential)
Ability to speak or read additional languages is an advantage
