We are partnering with a well-established organization to identify a senior leader to oversee enterprise analytics and data strategy within its technology organization. This role reports directly to the finance executive leadership team and leads a small, high-impact analytics group. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, with regular in-office collaboration in the greater Boston area.

This leader will be accountable for shaping how data is used across the organization—moving it beyond reporting into a strategic asset that drives decision-making, innovation, and measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with executive leadership to align data initiatives with enterprise priorities and transformation efforts.
  • Establish and deliver a multi-year roadmap covering data platforms, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data science capabilities.
  • Guide the evolution of analytics from descriptive reporting to predictive and prescriptive insights, including selective use of AI and machine learning.
  • Ensure analytics outputs—dashboards, models, and insights—are directly tied to business performance, strategy, and accountability.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data solutions, from ingestion and quality controls through production deployment and adoption.

Data Governance, Quality & Compliance

  • Design and lead a practical, scalable data governance framework that balances accessibility, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant privacy and data protection regulations while enabling responsible data usage across the business.
  • Establish standards for data quality, observability, and trust, enabling confident decision-making at all levels.
  • Provide oversight for ethical and responsible use of data and analytics, including AI-enabled solutions.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analytics professionals, fostering high performance and accountability.
  • Shape the operating model for analytics delivery, including the effective use of external partners and vendors when appropriate.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning grounded in measurable business value.
  • Drive data literacy initiatives that empower non-technical stakeholders to confidently use data in their roles.

Executive & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Collaborate across functional areas to ensure analytics initiatives address real business needs and deliver tangible outcomes.
  • Engage with external partners, vendors, and industry peers to stay current on emerging practices and tools.
  • Act as a visible leader for analytics internally, helping elevate the organization's overall data maturity.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

  • A seasoned data and analytics leader with
    12+ years
of progressive experience across analytics, data platforms, or digital transformation.
  • Demonstrated success building and leading analytics teams while delivering enterprise-level impact.
  • Strong understanding of modern BI platforms, data architectures, and advanced analytics, with a pragmatic approach to AI/ML adoption.
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels—able to engage executives while maintaining technical credibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; advanced education is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Certifications related to data management, privacy, or cloud platforms are a plus, but not a requirement.

Leadership Characteristics
