We are partnering with a well-established organization to identify a senior leader to oversee enterprise analytics and data strategy within its technology organization. This role reports directly to the finance executive leadership team and leads a small, high-impact analytics group. The position operates on a hybrid schedule, with regular in-office collaboration in the greater Boston area.
This leader will be accountable for shaping how data is used across the organization—moving it beyond reporting into a strategic asset that drives decision-making, innovation, and measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data & Analytics Leadership
- Define and execute a company-wide analytics vision that supports long-term growth, operational efficiency, and customer impact.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to align data initiatives with enterprise priorities and transformation efforts.
- Establish and deliver a multi-year roadmap covering data platforms, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data science capabilities.
- Guide the evolution of analytics from descriptive reporting to predictive and prescriptive insights, including selective use of AI and machine learning.
- Ensure analytics outputs—dashboards, models, and insights—are directly tied to business performance, strategy, and accountability.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data solutions, from ingestion and quality controls through production deployment and adoption.
Data Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Design and lead a practical, scalable data governance framework that balances accessibility, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant privacy and data protection regulations while enabling responsible data usage across the business.
- Establish standards for data quality, observability, and trust, enabling confident decision-making at all levels.
- Provide oversight for ethical and responsible use of data and analytics, including AI-enabled solutions.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analytics professionals, fostering high performance and accountability.
- Shape the operating model for analytics delivery, including the effective use of external partners and vendors when appropriate.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning grounded in measurable business value.
- Drive data literacy initiatives that empower non-technical stakeholders to confidently use data in their roles.
Executive & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Collaborate across functional areas to ensure analytics initiatives address real business needs and deliver tangible outcomes.
- Engage with external partners, vendors, and industry peers to stay current on emerging practices and tools.
- Act as a visible leader for analytics internally, helping elevate the organization's overall data maturity.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
- A seasoned data and analytics leader with
12+ years
of progressive experience across analytics, data platforms, or digital transformation. - Demonstrated success building and leading analytics teams while delivering enterprise-level impact.
- Strong understanding of modern BI platforms, data architectures, and advanced analytics, with a pragmatic approach to AI/ML adoption.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels—able to engage executives while maintaining technical credibility.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; advanced education is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Certifications related to data management, privacy, or cloud platforms are a plus, but not a requirement.
