WesleyLife Home Health provides comprehensive home health care services throughout central Iowa, serving clients in Boone, Dallas, Hamilton, Jasper, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Story, Warren, Cass, Washington, Audubon, Guthrie, Adair, and Poweshiek counties. Their services include medical support, therapy, and assistance with daily activities, delivered in clients' homes to enhance quality of life, promote independence, and support well-being. This position requires that you are currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Iowa.

Day in the Life of a Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):

  • Assist in conducting patient assessments and developing treatment plans under the supervision of a physical therapist, focusing on improving mobility, strength, and function.
  • Implement prescribed physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities, to help patients achieve their treatment goals.
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, proper body mechanics, and adaptive equipment use to support ongoing recovery and independence.
  • Collaborate closely with the physical therapist and interdisciplinary healthcare team to monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure comprehensive care delivery in the home setting.

Current Openings: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, on-call rotation

Experience

Required

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, valid insurance, and clean driving record
  • Graduate of a physical therapy assistant program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, Successor organizations of CAPTE, or An education program outside the United States determined to be substantially equivalent to physical therapist entry-level education in the United States by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the American Physical Therapy Association or an organization identified in 8 CFR e) as it relates to physical therapists.
  • Currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Iowa

Preferred

  • Ability to pass a pre-hire background check, pre-employment health assessment, and drug screen
  • Previous home health or direct patient care experience preferred.
