Topcon Healthcare is seeking a passionate and mission driven Senior Business Development Manager to join the newly created IDHea business. IDHea is looking to advance clinical research by leveraging data-sharing partnerships and real-world data to advance screening and diagnose ophthalmic and other systemic diseases (Oculomics).

This business development role will focus on driving new partnerships with Pharma and AI developers interested in developing new biomarkers, new treatment therapies and optimizing clinical trials. This role requires an ambitious and entrepreneurial new business professional with deep pharma expertise, as well as a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of medical data (Ophthalmology is a huge plus) and excellent negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Establish and maintain strong data partnerships with key stakeholders in the Ophthalmology ecosystem (i.e., pharmaceutical companies, AI algorithm developers, and academia);
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and drive the execution of business development plans and initiatives to achieve revenue growth.
  • Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in the clinical trials industry.
  • Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams, both internal and external, to ensure successful partnership implementation and ongoing collaboration.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is required. MBA is preferred.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development with Pharma or a related field.
  • Deep Industry Knowledge: familiarity with the healthcare and technology sectors is a must; understanding of medical data and sponsored clinical research. Ophthalmology knowledge is a huge plus

Skills & Competencies:

  • Results-oriented with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets (hunter mentality).
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Base Pay:
Expected Base Pay: $155,000 Annualized

The base pay range included is a projected hiring range for a position, level and potential work location(s) listed. Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.

Bonus eligible:
In addition to base pay, compensation for this position includes eligibility for a quarterly incentive bonus.

  • Topcon time off policies can vary between exempt or non-exempt. For hourly ("non-exempt") employees, we offer personal paid time off which accrues in accordance with local standards. All paid time off policies are in accordance with or exceeding local law. Employees working at least 30 hours per week are eligible for our Health and Welfare benefit package.
