State Fund is building its information governance and data classification structures. Information Governance is actively seeking an accomplished Information Governance Manager to lead staff in the implementation of an information governance framework to support information governance's strategic objectives.

Under the direction of the Enterprise Security and Information Governance Vice President, as well as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Information Governance Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and supervising a skilled team across a range of essential functions.

The Information Governance Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Establish and maintain an information management and classification program which allows the business to use an information management life cycle to organize, secure, maintain, use and dispose of information in ways that align with and contribute to organizational goals.
  • Develop and continuously improve State Fund's data classification assessment, tools, policies/procedures, and supporting business process to reduce the exposure of risk to the organization.
  • Work cross-functionally with State Fund programs including legal, privacy, and technology teams to establish and integrate defined standards between programs to deliver and support assessing and classifying the information risk of systems/applications.
  • Define and implement a training program to train individuals with critical information governance accountability across the enterprise.
  • Assist in the remediation of audit and regulatory feedback on the information governance program.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge and expertise of new technologies and data/information management practices through exposure to industry practices, changing technology, and proactive networking.
  • Collaborate closely with Leaders to ensure that policies, practices, and tools align seamlessly with information governance objectives.
  • Supervise, train, and develop staff.
  • Support State Fund's Enterprise Security in information security matters

Working Conditions

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
