One of our direct clients is looking to hire a Software Engineer (Multiple positions) in Newark NJ. This role is contract-to-hire and hybrid in Newark NJ. Please find below the job description.

Position: Full Stack Engineers & Java AWS Developer

Location: Newark NJ (Hybrid)

Client: one of the largest Financial/insurance companies.

Full-stack Developer

Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable applications using Java, JavaScript, React, and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Integrate front-end components with backend APIs and databases.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensure quality through unit testing and code reviews.

Required Skills:

• Languages: Java, JavaScript, Python

• Frameworks: React (primary), Angular (for migration), Spring Boot / Spring Batch

• Databases: Relational (DB2, Oracle) and Non-relational (DynamoDB, DocumentDB)

• Expected 50/50 split between front-end and back-end proficiency

• AWS familiarity: Lambda, EventBridge, Kinesis, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch

PLUS: Experience with agentic frameworks and AI-driven development tools is a major plus (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot etc)

Backend Java Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement microservices using Java, Spring Boot, or
• Manage data exchange between services and cloud data stores.
• Work closely with front-end and data teams on integration points.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Java or
• Cloud-native development on AWS.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, message queues, and event-driven design.
