Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day casework services in accordance with regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and COBYS Family Services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate supportive services to meet the needs of children in foster care
- Conduct safety assessments and in-person contacts with the child
- Complete written reports and case notes; gather documentation and maintain case files
- Ensure family visits are arranged; provide supervision during visits as requested
- Ensure the child attends all required appointments (visits, services, medical, educational, evaluations, etc.) and receives appropriate and timely medical and mental health care
- Participate in court hearings and significant appointments
- Assist in providing individualized support for resource families
- Participate in required meetings and training as per COBYS policy
- If promoted to senior status, additional responsibilities may include training new staff, overseeing interns, supervisory coverage, and/or program-specific projects

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, social service field preferred
- Must pass State Police, Childline, and FBI clearances and pre-employment medical appraisal
- Must possess a valid driver's license, car insurance, and vehicle registration
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend, stoop, squat, twist, crouch, kneel, lift, grasp, balance, push, and pull; occasional need to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, and/or move up to 40 pounds, with or without assistance
- Ability to reach with hands and arms and push items overhead
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to hear, respond, and talk
- Mandatory dexterity as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers, including firm grasping
Caseworker will complete and document a minimum of 40 hours of training annually based on organizational requirements and individual caseworker needs. Training to include CPR/FA.
