About Us

On the Write Track is a tutoring and academic coaching company based in Los Angeles. We support students in grades K–12 through personalized, one-on-one tutoring that builds skills, confidence, and independence.

While we are known for strong writing instruction and admissions support, much of our current work focuses on general academic tutoring at the elementary, middle, high school levels. Families choose us because we are thoughtful, organized, communicative, and genuinely good with kids.

We are growing and looking to build a small, high-quality team of educators who want consistent work, professional support, and the opportunity to grow with a premium tutoring brand.

The Role

As an Academic Tutor, you will:

• Provide one-on-one tutoring in general academic subjects, including math, science, reading, and writing, depending on your strengths
• Support middle and high school students with homework, skill-building, organization, and confidence
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding progress, goals, and session updates
• Deliver engaging, structured sessions primarily in students' homes, with occasional virtual (Zoom) sessions as needed

Current demand is strongest for middle and high school math and science, though comfort supporting writing and reading is important.

Current & Upcoming Needs

We are currently meeting strong demand for general academic tutoring, particularly in:

• Math (middle school through high school)
• Science (including Chemistry)
• After-school or weekend tutoring in Pasadena, the Westside (Santa Monica / Brentwood), Calabassas, and nearby areas

As the school year progresses, additional opportunities may open up in writing instruction, test prep, and admissions-related work for interested tutors.

Some tutors may be matched with families shortly after onboarding, depending on subject strengths, availability, and location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (Education, English, Math, Science, or related field preferred)
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience strongly preferred
• Ability to commit to consistent after-school hours and some weekends
• Reliable transportation (in-person sessions are common)
• Comfortable working independently in family homes and maintaining professional boundaries at all times
